Busan: Coastal Splendor and Cultural Gems

The artsy Gamcheon Village and the Little Prince

Leaving behind the urban landscape of Seoul, we embarked on a scenic journey to the coastal city of Busan, where the tranquil beauty of the sea awaited us. Our first stop was the enchanting Gamcheon Culture Village, a kaleidoscope of colorful houses perched on a hillside overlooking the sea. Wandering through its labyrinthine alleyways adorned with vibrant murals, we felt as though we had stepped into a whimsical work of art.

Gamcheon seems like a strange place to be seeking out the boy from the famous French children’s book, The Little Prince, but he and his fox are here, sitting atop a wall overlooking the village. There are usually huge queues to take a photo with the statue, so use your discretion to judge if you have time to wait for a snap. You’ll also see the Little Prince and his fox feature in a lot of the souvenir shops around Gamcheon.

Honestly, besides the artsy vibe of this small town, with all the shopping and coffee shops offering towering & stunning views of Gamcheon, we surprisingly loved this place so much, we could probably spend the WHOLE DAY here!! 😅
